Full specification

Designed by G.L. Watson and built by the Buckie Jones Shipyard who have existed for many years building fishing and commercial vessels.

The Spey was inspired by the Scottish fishing vessels and took all the fine attributes of those proven work boats in order to produce a pleasure yacht that would be safe and comfortable at sea, incredibly strong and would provide very spacious comfortable accommodation for her crew.

Two designs were drawn, the 35′ and the 40′. This is the second evolution of the 35′ yacht, known as the MkII which had a raised foredeck rather than a coach roof forward in order to give more space below.

The construction is typical of the Scottish yards with large scantlings and sections giving a heavy displacement and very strong boat. She has voyaged far and wide over the years and proven herself to be a very comfortable cruising yacht as well as an accomplished sea boat.
